The rime of the ancient mariner series

A series of 14 paintings of imaginary scenes based on Coleridge's 'Rime of the ancient mariner'. Published in 1798, the poem is one of the best known in the english language. It tells the story [via the mariner talking to a passerby on his way to a wedding] of the terrible voyage of the mariner's ship. A tale of sin, punishment, penance and absolution. A tale which the mariner must tell for the rest of his life as penance.

Each painting is acrylic on canvas, 30x24 inches.

Style based on my japanese 'ukiyo-e' style, with relevant quotes from the poem in old english text on parchment paper.

These are listed here as not for sale.

I would welcome somewhere to exhibit the series as a whole for a time, possibly a university, school  or church .

If there is interest in buying the series as a whole, i would be happy to discuss a price.
